IJF World Kata Championships 2014

We are pleased to announce that Bellerud Sensei of Seiwakan has been selected to represent the United States at the Kata World Championships in 2014!  He will compete with his partner Jeff Rooney from Obukan Judo in Kime-no-Kata in Malaga, Spain, as one of six teams from the United States Competition will be held on the 21st and 22nd of September 2014.

This is a great honor to have one of our Senseis represent not just Seiwakan but the United States at such a prestigious event, and we wish him all the best in his efforts to prepare!

Kangeiko is ON

Though the Sellwood Community Center will otherwise be closed tonight (Monday, February 10), we have confirmed that the center will remain OPEN for our first night of Kangeiko tonight.

As a reminder, practice will go from 6:30-8pm.  Please arrive early enough to change and be ready to line up before 6:30.

*Community Center Closure*

Seiwakan practices after 1pm on February 6 are canceled.  The community center is closing at that time due to inclement weather.  This post will be updated if and when we receive any official word about further scheduling.

In the meantime, stay warm.
